Comment: Delivery was fast-just a couple of days. This is a good alternative to high-priced, disposable razors.

Summary: Not Really 'Straight-Razor' But Just As Close A Shave 2008-04-09
Comment: I've been looking for these blades for a while and never thought to check Amazon. So glad I did. Used by barbers all over the country, these razors cost about a penny each, but the quality is top-notch!
I was tired of paying [...] more for a pack of 8 cartridges; sure the razors were good, but do we need a blade that's the size of an eraser? And they keep coming out with "new" and "improved" shaving technology, some requiring batteries, while doing little to really improve our shave. Ever notice in the commercials how the guy has a perfect, even lather on his face? His face is already shaved before the lather is put on (most likely with a straight-razor), and no one that I know of tenderly applies cream to their face like that.
So I did research online for straight razors, the old fashion kind that you sharpen daily, and found them to be expensive and take a lot of care to maintain its sharpness. Being like most americans, I'm too lazy and don't have much time to spend on taking care of a razor blade. So I found that owning a traditional straight razor wasn't right for me. I found a kind that needed replaceable blades, and decided to go with that instead. The blades are cheap (double edged), but had to be broken in half in order to be used. Doing this, I found that the edge of the blade always had a bend in it, and never sat quite right in the holder. I saw my barber using blades already cut, and asked about it. He said to check out a beauty supply store, but my search always came up empty.
This is a great deal, getting 300 blades [...], plus a holder to do some shaving. No need to worry about slicing your fingers while bending a double-edged blade. Each blade is individually wrapped and is very easy to change.
If you've never shaved with a straight razor before, do some searching online or ask someone who has for advice. It takes practice and patience, but is well worth it.
