Summary: It worked! 2010-02-17
Comment: I bought this along with "Taking Charge of your Fertility" after trying for 7 months. I only used the thermometer for one month because we conceived right away. Due in 19 days :) Definately buy the book if you are trying!

Summary: Does the job. 2010-02-02
Comment: After trying for months with regular thermometers to take my waking temperature every day, I could finally complete my first month of taking my temperature without fail, every single day, thanks to this thermometer. Its accuracy and convenience motivated me to follow through with charting. Saving the temp for you to read when fully awake is a plus - subtly I think it helped keep me on track with taking the temp before fully waking up. (Earlier I was always forgetting and getting all the way up.) At $10, the price was reasonable, I would recommend.

Summary: Great features, Great price! 2010-01-08
Comment: I bought this 2 months ago and it's great! Very consistent and reliable. It has a blue backlight and beeps every 4 seconds during the 1 min. and lots of tiny beeps when it's done and has a memory. My only complaint was the beeping was a little loud, very easily fixed by putting a little piece of scotch tape on the back where the small hole is. That cut down the sounds by half, but enough where I can still hear it (which is important to make sure your in the right spot.) I love this thermometer!

Summary: Pretty accurate and consistant 2009-12-08
Comment: I bought this thermometer and the Vicks basal thermometer and tested them both. I took 3 temperatures with the Vicks thermometer and 3 temperatures with the BD thermometer. The BD thermometer had all 97.5's and the Vicks thermometer fluctuated by .2 degrees on all three temps. I tested them again by taking 3 more temps with each thermometer and the BD was still consistent with two temps reading 97.5 and one reading 97.3 and the Vicks was still fluctuating by .2-.5 degrees on all readings. I didn't realize that this thermometer was also a 1/10th reading and the Vicks thermometer is a 1/100th reading. I read in one of the learning books for NFP that the 1/10th one is the best one to use since you should be recording your temps that way, and since the BD seems more consistant I will just use this one.

Summary: Not a second thermometer... 2009-11-28
Comment: I bought this thermometer to check my basal temps when I wake up. For this purpose, one needs a thermometer which takes at least a minute. The thermometer needs to be in your mouth long enough to acquire a proper reading.

If you are using a thermometer for a baby or a dog, I highly suggest the 8 second ones, they are terrific for this short duration.

Otherwise, this works great and I can read the degrees easily and clearly. Very happy with my purchase.
