Product Description
It is the first full featured trainer designed for both the professional trainer and the average pet owner with no training experience. The Remote Trainer can be used to deter unwanted behavior such as digging, chewing on furniture, jumping on guests, or barking. Or, it can be used for basic obedience training such as teaching the "come" command. With its range of up to 100 yards, you will have the control you need to train around your home or even at the park. The expanded training manual written by the professional dog trainers at Triple Crown Dog Academy will ensure you get the proper instruction before you begin training your pet. It has eight adjustable levels of stimulation that can be changed with a quick flick of your thumb, so you can be sure to always have the appropriate stimulus-- just enough to get your pet's attention. The receiver collar is the smallest and lightest available, weighing only 1.4 ounces, making it easily wearable for even the smallest dog. Comment: I really like the collar, it has been a great correction for my Pom's whining. Just don't like the batteries don't last long and the buttons do stick.

Summary: oh so happy! 2008-09-13
Comment: I have a little terrier or should I say terror. She constantly barks,jumps on people,chases kids, shes crazy. When I tell her to stop,come,off, anything, she just looks at me and continues. I put this on her yesterday and was skeptical on using the shocker option, so I tried the ultrasonic part and it worked. She stopped barking, she came back to me when I called her. She was about to chase someone and I said no and pressed the button and she sat there quietly. I have not used the shocker at all. I know all dogs are different, but this worked on mine. I highly recommend it.

Summary: training collar 2008-09-09
Comment: I purchased this collar for a Brittany Spaniel that I am training.
She likes to dig, bark, and chew things up. I like the tone feature.
When I observe her doing something she shouldn't be doing, I turn it
on, put it on her and sit back and wait for her to resume. Once the
offending behavior begins she hears the tone. She stops, makes a
conscious decision to continue, hears the tone again, etc. If she
doesn't stop after the third tone, I set the stimulation level to 50%
and give her a mild jolt. She gets a startled look, yelps and runs a
few steps. Then she returns to smell the site and assess. Occasionally
it takes a little more juice. At 70% she becomes a fur covered cruise
missile headed for the doghouse. I put it on myself to see just how
much of a jolt it had. At 100% it causes muscular contractions and
moderate discomfort. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. My yard
has a lot fewer holes in it. My extension cords and everything else
chewable are intact. I can sleep in on weekends, etc. Very rugged and
apparently waterproof.

Summary: "Better together" batteries are not the right ones 2008-08-14
Comment: The trainer itself is working fine, but wanted to alert folks, and Amazon.com that the "Better together" batteries are NOT the right ones. The small dog unit shipped to me uses 2 3V CR2032s, but I was sent 2 pre-packaged 6V RFA-67s (PetSafe's part number) which are obviously for some other unit.

Summary: My bad! Too big for my dog......... 2008-08-13
Comment: I ordered this product for use with training my Chihuahua. It was too large and bulky for such a small dog (12#). Appeared to be well made, IMHO would be OK for a dog above 15# or so, minimum. Returned for an Innotek "Lap Dog Trainer". The Innotek was more money and had considerably less features. It fit just fine,however. I used the optional "close" (REAL small dog) contacts. I would rather have used this (Petsafe) trainer if the receiver weren't so large.
