Amazon.com Product Description

ClimbTek's multipurpose ladder lets you customize it to the task. The ClimbTek articulating ladder quickly adjusts from stepladder to 16-foot extension ladder to stairwell ladder to scaffolding, making even difficult maintenance jobs, like changing hard-to-reach bulbs in stairwells, manageable. Folding sections create a sturdy work area on uneven surfaces such as stairs, low walls, or ledges. Strong locking hinges click in place, and a red hinge label tells at a glance whether or not joints are locked. The four-section ladder collapses for easy storage.

Summary: Good product but watch for slight of hand 2009-07-02
Comment: After much searching for a lighter, easier opening/closing ladder I found the CT416 at Amazon for the best price. Ordered one, got free shipping. It came in a battered Lt wght box and a corner foot was damaged. Had to return it. That was 3 weeks ago. Now it is nearly $50 higher plus paying freight. The photo shows two options but neglects to say you don't get them for that price (unless you scroll to the 'also bought' section). Still impressed with the ladder, just don't like the slight of hand game. Guess I'll do without.

Summary: Excellent Ladder 2009-06-18
Comment: This ladder was everything I was looking for... folds down to a 4-foot tall ladder, so it fits in my townhouse in the city. Easily configures to accommodate different tasks/heights. It's sturdy and well constructed, and it isn't so heavy or cumbersome that I can't carry it to where I need it. That, plus, like the Little Giant, this product is Made in USA which matters to me, as I look to buy an American product if there is this option. The Werner ladder is made in Mexico.

Summary: Good and Bad 2009-05-03
Comment: I've had this ladder for 5 years. I recently bought a Werner MT-22.
The ClimbTek has 2 advantages:
You can make a scaffold out of it quickly, move it easily, and don't need any kind of additional plank (although it's a good idea to use one anyway). Also you can rotate the last section to approx 90deg, and place that on the roof of a one-story house, allowing you to use it without crushing the rain gutter, and walk right up onto the roof easily.
Where the Werner MT-22 improves on the ClimbTek:
When set up as a step ladder, you can adjust the height. ClimbTek is 8ft only. Same thing as an extension ladder: lots of different heights on the Werner, only 8, 12 or 16ft on the Climbtek. When the Climbtek is at 12ft, it's very top-heavy. The Werner is a lot tighter. The joints don't wobble as much as on the ClimbTek. I feel more secure on the Werner at every height. The ClimbTek is only really solid as a step-ladder.

Summary: Good ladder.....but.......? 2008-10-07
Comment: I purchased this product years ago....sometime in late '05 or early '06 as I recall. I do NOT recall receiving any customer/product book with the ladder. The sales information on this ladder indicates a "lifetime
guarantee."
I've only used this ladder occasionally, mainly for indoor painting in my multi-story, old house. Used very seldom outdoors...never had a drop of rain or snow falling on it. Always stored indoors. Detailed instructions on ladder followed to a tee.
Last week, while trying to open ladder for some outside work...outside
section would not open. One of the hinges appears to not be working. Be-cause ladder always worked well, and I really liked it...I avoided printing a negative review..and decided to try and contact ClimbTek. A web search produced nothing, despite the product being sold by many retailers. I then phoned Amazon.(rather had AMazon phone me)...which they did almost immediately. Despite some communication problems (an English-speaking foreigner I could barely understand), he (Amazon staffer) tried for find contact number so I could get some information...
(replacement, repair, whatever). Despite apparent efforts by Amazon staffer, and many "holds" taking considerable time.....nothing. He could not dig up any contact information for ClimbTek, and said....he/Amazon could not do anything. So....I guess I have a defective ladder, with no recourse.
If Amazon,or anyone, reading this has contact information for ClimbTek, I'd appreciate it if you could advise me. My e-mail... razar@voyager.net
Thanks!
IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS PRODUCT....BE CAREFUL OF THE HINGES.
I see others have had the same problem(s).... with varying results. I really liked the product, and it worked great..but, difficult to recommend it now.

Summary: Just right for all our ladder needs. 2007-01-28
Comment: We received this ladder in record time and packaged well. We have a one story home and were able to do all the things around the house and on the roof you'd need a ladder for.
After reading and following the instructions, my husband found the ladder went into the different positions easily. He had to move the ladder into the positions while it was laying down because the ladder is to large to change while it is standing up.
I am looking forward to using it for painting the inside of our home. We decided on this ladder because of the optional platform and the other things available that make projects easier to do.
Finally, three of our old (and awful) ladders are in retirement.
