Customer Rating: Summary: A great gizmo 2008-07-12 Comment: If you've wrestled with reloading a string trimmer spool until you were ready to spit briars, you'll appreciate this replacement head.
I had a lot of doubts it would work. I didn't think the strings would stay in, and I didn't think the tri-cornered head would stand up to the kind of abuse it was sure to get.
I've used it a half season now, and I am very happy with it. I use regular trimmer replacement line. I just cut a handful of replacements to length from the spool and stick them in my pocket, and off I go.
Replacing lines is a snap. You just push what's left of the old line through, and stick the new one in. Internal clamps hold it in place.
I haven't had one get snatched out of the head yet. Most just wear down until they need replacing, or get sheared off by the occasional sharp object. The bottom line is I'm using a lot less string.
And so far the head has held up to the occasional bangs and knocks it gets around the yard.
Thanks to the Grass Samurai, keeping string in the string trimmer isn't nearly the annoyance it used to be.
