Comment: ASIN B000SAU4C6 - After an unexpected shrinkage issue with an extraordinarily expensive t-shirt and since winter makes hanging clothes on the line impossible, it seemed like a good time to expand our options and give this puppy a whirl.
The Garment-Drying Station comes un-assembled, but putting it together is incredibly easy. No tools, you hardly even need the directions - just stick on the plastic feet and hook the shelves to the unit, plug it in and you're done! The mesh body of the shelves is already attached. Five shelves, each about 4 1/4" apart.
The positives - it dries things much quicker than simply hanging them or using other, non-electric, options. The fan is very quiet, so no matter where you put it, it won't hum like it's trying to take off. The negatives - the already-attached mesh isn't likely to be easy to replace. The entire unit is about 26" x 24", larger than any surface in my house other than my dining room table; it might fit on large washers/dryers but not mine. The shelves don't lock together in any way, which makes them really easy to knock apart as you try to put things on other shelves. The small space between shelves is a double-edged sword. It means the thing isn't 6 feet tall, but it also means you haven't got a lot of maneuvering room between shelves - reaching in to lay something on the shelf or just to flatten something out can become frustrating.
The annoyances are small, really, compared to the usefulness of the station. I'll stick to line-drying when possible, but when it's not, this is a great option.

Summary: Handy gadget, no need to hang clothes over the tub. 2007-09-25
Comment: This dryer is really making my life easier, at home and on a visit to an apartment with insufficient laundry facilities. I transported the unit in my minivan inside an old vinyl suit bag.
I am pleased that I don't have to worry about shrinkage and the harsh dryer action for my garments that require a little TLC.
I wish the hanger accessories were available, separately, or with the unit to start with. I have contacted Hamilton Beach, but they have not responded.
The racks are sturdy, and no tools are required. An unexpected bonus was the circulation of cool air in the room, accompanied by the lovely aroma of freshly-laundered clothes.
Nothing could beat Amazon on the quick fulfillment of this order. I didn't even have time to track it. Thank you Amazon, as always...excellence striven for, and acheived.
