Product Description
Features a handy remote control that can be used to adjust the three speeds, timer and on/off. Quietly cleans and filters the air in your shop while you work. Filtering 98% of all particles 5 microns in size and 85% of all particles 1 micron in size. Use in conjunction with a JET dust collector for maximum dust control. Unit comes complete with eyebolts to either hang the machine from the ceiling or to sit on on a workbench. System features a convenient built in timer that can be set at 2, 4, or 8 hour increments. Turn the timer on when you enter the shop and forget about it. System will shut itself off at the hour interval you set. Constructed of a heavy-duty, powder coated metal box and powerful motor and fan for added durability. Comes standard with an electrostatic filter that is electronically charged to attract many more dust particles than other standard filters. Three speeds (550, 702, and 1044 CFM). Has the capability of filtering the air in a 20' x 20' x 8' shop in under five minutes. It can filter the air in that shop over 12 times an hour. Two easy grip handles are inset into both sides for ease of movement. Filters are easily replaceable, no tools required. The inner three pocket filter fits inside and can be blown out or washed out if preferred. Comes with sealed inner filter. A good filtration system is as important as any tool in your shop, and the Jet AFS-1000 is a pretty inspired machine. Like other systems on the market, Jet's uses a two-filter process: an outer filter removes particles up to 5 microns in size and an inner, three-pocket filter traps particles as small as 1 micron. The electrostatic outer filter easily withstands three or four washings, and the inner filter can be blown clean easily with compressed air. On the power end, Jet's three-speed, 1/6-horsepower motor filters to 1044 cfm on high speed. The outer filter is well sealed and provides efficient intake. However, what really sets the AFS-1000 apart from most filtration systems is its remote control and timer features. Since these systems are most effective when placed high or hung from the ceiling, being able to control all of the unit's functions via remote control is a feature we quickly decided we wouldn't want to live without. The timer, which can also be set via remote, affords you the option to set it and forget it. --Justin Paul

Summary: Remote dead! Heavy, bulky, and still leaves dust in the air. 2008-11-10
Comment: I've owned it for 5 years, recently found the remote is not working and it is not the battery. Everything else still works. I use it for painting which fouls the pre-filters fast. While this does keep overspray off of everything I'm not painting, it doesn't do a good job of filtering the air in my home-made paint booth, affecting the quality of the finish. If you just want to keep sawdust down in your shop fine, but not that suitable for when you want to do some fine finish work.

Comment: This unit is more powerful than the words or picture describe. I have it suspended from the floor joyces in the basement and it truly cleans the air quickly. Well constructed.

Comment: Air cleaner works very good in my garage where I do wood projects and also store a classic car. Only problem is the plactic handle broke and the unit fell 3 feet to the floor. The unit was not damaged and I will replace the handle with a metal one.

Summary: Good bargain and quiet too 2008-08-18
Comment: This is my second airfilter for fine dust control. I am impressed that the unit is so quiet. Compared to my equally sized Delta unit this Jet is a whisper at even the high volume setting. Installation was easy and all the parts were supplied as specified in the Amazon description. This has turned out to be a winner.
