Summary: TWO IN ONE! 2008-11-17
Comment: I love this product, not only because it's so practical to have both Smoke and CO2 alarms in one unit, but it is so unobtrusive and it works well (doesn't go off every time you fry an egg). It is better to have a CO alarm at ceiling level for early detection, it is battery operated so it works when the power is out and can even go with you if you are away from home, even in your car. It also has a voice to discriminate between fire and CO. Great Product!

Summary: I like the idea of a voice as it gets your attention. 2008-11-09
Comment: I like the way it was a voice to alert you when you are sleeping. Just a loud buzz can go unnoticed or ignored. Course I haven't had a fire yet for a full test, but I knew it worked well when I had it in the kitchen and I burned the toast.

Summary: Do you like paying for an electrician? Then buy Kidde products. 2008-07-31
Comment: I've had the Kidde combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm installed for three years and have paid $300 in electrician bills to install and fix them. Tomorrow morning I will pay again because the things wont stop chirping again.

The chirping is not caused by the battery. All the wire-in units have been reset. This is not the first time this is happened or that the units have alarmed because of a malfunction. Last time the units were still under waranty and Kidde replaced one. (Kidde didn't offer to pay for both visits by electricians.) Tomorrow morning I will pay another electricial but this time to unistall all of the units. I'm going back to the simpler battery-opperated ones (not by Kidde). I will never buy another Kidde product.

Oh, and forget any trouble-shooting help from the manual or the KiddeUs.com site. I found no help for this either place.

Comment: I originally purchased two of these 7 years ago when I moved into our new home. The two I just purchased are replacing the original two. Being a Firefighter I am very safety minded. Because these are two-in-one alarms, I think they are a super buy. About 4 years ago one of the alarms went off in the middle of the night warning of Carbon Monoxide. My charcoal grill was put back into my garage too soon and CO was building up in the house. THANKS to Kidde and this alarm system!!! Remember to replace these units every 5-7 years and replace the batteries every time the time changes...(every 6 months)
