Product Description
Want a really cordless, cordless phone? The Out-of-Sight PowerJack is the solution! This unique 4-wire telephone jack is integrated with a low-voltage power supply and installs behind cordless wall phones, answering machines and combination units. No longer will unsightly dangling cords and bulky transformers interfere with your home's décor. The Out-of-Sight PowerJack installs in a standard wall box and is the same size as standard wall-mounted phone jacks. All unsightly wires tuck neatly behind the phone for a streamlined look. It features user-adjustable voltage settings, accommodating cordless phones (ranging from 7 to 12V DC) and comes with six universal plug adapters. It is perfect in new or newly remodeled construction and can be retrofitted to existing installations.Regulated output voltage keeps the output voltage stable at any point along the input voltage range (96 to135V AC). It also features high-efficiency and low stand-by mode power dissipation. The typical steady state (with load) power consumption is 8.5 @ 74% efficiency. Typical standby mode (no load) power dissipation is 0.12W. Over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protection provide safety and reliability.Includes six universal adapters for operation with most cordless phones.

Summary: Misleading description, not what I thought it was 2008-09-17
Comment: I purchased this product to remove the plug for my cordless phone on the kitchen counter. Based on every description I read, I thought this used the power from the phone line to power the cordless phone. WRONG! It needs 110 VAC AND a phone line run to the same electrical box. So a retrofit is not an option, unless you are willing to rip into your drywall.
It is a great idea, but advertising should be much clearer that it is for new construction or remodelling only, not for use with existing installations.

Summary: Pretty nifty gadget 2008-05-30
Comment: This product works exactly as advertised and it gets rid of all that ugly clutter of power supply cords.
I do have one complaint and that's about the power cord adapters they provide to power your phone. I have Panasonic phones and none of the adapters they provide fit my phone. They LOOK like they do but they don't supply power. Since I'm a gear head, it was no big deal, I just cut the power cord they provide and spliced in the original Panasonic plug and it worked perfectly. So that's why I didn't give it the 5 stars it deserves. It's not plug and play in my experience.
This must be costing them since I returned the first unit as defective and just persevered with the second one until I found out the problem.
As they say, your results may differ.
