Summary: Great Solution for Bathroom Fan 2008-05-14
Comment: I had tried a number of motion sensor switches and fan timer switches for a bathroom fan with no satisfaction. It is very difficult to use a motion sensor if the switch faces the doorway as walking by the bathroom would activate the fan. The idea is to avoid leaving the fanning running for lengthy periods of time. Most timer switches require a hot wire which is fine if that's how your house wiring is configured. But if the switch is a typical 2 black wire configuration, then you need a two-wire (plus ground) switch. There just aren't a whole lot of those switches that are available for 2,5, 10 minute intervals. This one perfectly resolved the problem.

Summary: Helps kids take shorter showers!! 2008-02-09
Comment: I had been looking for a way to help keep our older children from taking so long in the shower. This timer helps "throw some cold water" of darkness so that they are motivated to finish before the timer runs out.
This switch would not start compact-florescent bulbs (they would flicker) so I had to switch to incandescent, but that was worth not having the light stay on all the time and keep shorter showers! As another reviewer pointed out, this 5A model won't control a fan (you need the 20A model)
I would install more if they didn't cost so much.

Summary: Warning 2006-06-02
Comment: This 5 Amps switch model does not work with fans (only lighting fixtures). Motor devices require 20A switch. You can get it from the same seller.
