Summary: Excellent timer switch - especially for fans 2009-01-06
Comment: I have used a number of these switches, some are more than 5 year old already. The "clicking noise" mentioned by the other reviewer is no louder than the clicking that you hear when depressing a paddle switch (a regular switch). The count down feature is great, and my 4-year old son already know that certain situations require 15 minutes! This is a much classier solution that the twist-type timers.
This timer works with fans: NOT ALL TIMERS DO. They must be designed to kick on a motor (inductive). Leviton also makes one that is 10-20-30-60 minutes, which I use in the bathroom with the shower.

Summary: Great for bathrooms 2007-01-02
Comment: My 4-year old daughter has learned how to turn on lights and the bathroom fan, but not to turn them off. Also, I often find that guests turn on the bathroom fan to help remove any foul odors, but they never come back to turn them off.
This timer is a perfect solution to both problems. It replaces a regular wall switch and gives you four buttons: 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and off. After the appropriate period, the switch turns off automatically.
The only downside is a very slight clicking noise when you turn the switch on or off, as the relay kicks in. The noise isn't annoying, but you should know about it before you buy.
