I am surprised so many people wrote that it is easier on their backs. I have a bad back and bought this for clearing off my deck. It isn't much easier on my back than shoveling. The only real difference is you don't have to lift the snow and dump it, but you still have to push it, and this shovel weighs 13 lbs. Add the weight of the snow and it is still hard work and tough on my back. Especially with wet snow.
My other major complaint is it doesn't work well on uneven surfaces, like a deck, brick sidewalks, or grass. (I tried shoveling a path on the lawn for the dog but it was almost impossible and VERY hard work.) It's useless on steps... just use your shovel on them.
BTW, it would be nice if it had a built in cord, like vacuum cleaners, but you need to purchase an outdoor extension cord to use this.
Given the above shortcomings, if I had to do it over again, I would probably not purchase this. Its benefits are minimal and do not outweigh the cost.
