Summary: Two thumbs up! 2010-03-19
Comment: I purchased this musical toy for my autistic grandson's 9th birthday. He loves it. It would be good for any child. The music is so soothing.
Summary: Wonderful toy for calming a fussy baby 2010-03-19
Comment: We actually got two of these as gifts for our (then) 3 month old. I took one look at it and figured it would annoy us but decided to keep one in the car (for fussing during trips) and one at home. I had no idea what a hit this would be! Unless she is absolutely starving it calms her cries almost instantaneously. The 4 songs it plays are good classical songs that don't annoy and the blinking light patterns are fun to watch. My friend's 1 year old discovered it one time we visited and will likely be getting one of her own as she would not put it down.
I love that it has an on/soft/loud switch as sometimes it needs to be louder when baby is crying. Plus with the off switch it won't get bumped at the wrong time. The caterpillar handle is also the right shape for little hands.
Great toy to have around and a real surprise for us.
Summary: Great toy, but sticker comes off 2010-03-15
Comment: My 8 month old LOVES this toy, but the other day I caught her chewing on the button (the part with the big circle sticker of the 4 colors). She got her first tooth and was able to start scratching off the sticker. I had to pull off the rest of the sticker to keep her from eating it. The toy isn't as pretty now, but works just as well. The lights are, as another reviewer stated, very bright, but it seems fine if the room is well lit. I wouldn't give it to my baby in a dark room or in the car at night.
Summary: Good Quality but not much depth 2010-03-15
Comment: We received this as a gift and while the toy is well made and functions properly, it has very limited functionality. One button, some flashing lights, and 7 songs. While the flashing lights and sounds certainly attract our baby he quickly grows tired of the toy and moves on to more interactive toys ... like the dog or just about anything else in reach soon after. In our case, we are much happier with a fuller function child musical keyboard which allows for greater variation in play.
Summary: Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes 2010-03-14
Comment: We purchased this for our 4 month old grandson. He loves it. Loves the colored lights. Tries to grab for it. The tunes are nice, & easy to the ears. It's not loud and obnoxious. Glad we got it. Happy with our purchase.
