Summary: Nice design, but tabletop material is a bit lacking. 2008-10-21
Comment: I just completed putting together the table yesterday for my son's computer. The frame is solid wood, very sturdy, and easy to assemble. I just wish they would rub the wood down with steel wool or something to make it a little smoother. The finish on the frame is applied, but it's very rough to the hand like they just did a fine spray and let it dry very coarse. The design of the table is very nice and I really liked it. The only disappointing thing is the table top, seat, and the little tray is particle board with a thin wallpaper like maple pattern laminate. If anything metal or something scratches it a little bit, I think it'll rip the laminate finish. They could have used a birch veneer for the tabletop and it would have been much better than what they have right now. I guess I like the design and frame more than the material they chose to use for the seat, top, and shelf. I might use a router bit to trace out the top, seat, and shelf with 3/4 " maple plywood and make it what is should have been.
