Summary: Great puzzle for 2-3 year olds, not older 2008-11-17
Comment: I got this puzzle for my son when he was almost 2. He LOVED it and he's about to turn 3 now and still LOVES it, but it's just WAY too easy for him. It's not a challenge anymore as far as a puzzle goes, but he likes to play with the pieces and drive or float them around. The age range says up to 5 years old but I think that's WAY too old. 3 years MAX, I'd say. Very sturdy and high quality, too.

Summary: quality not the same!! 2008-08-25
Comment: We have many melissa and doug puzzles, and I love them. I had ordered the vehicles and the farm animal puzzle for a friends child. Not impressed w/ the quality. there was only paint on the top of the puzzle pieces instead of the entire piece and it seemed really cheap. not happy!!!I guess not all melissa and doug puzzles are created the same -beware of the cheaper version.

Summary: Declining Quality 2008-08-12
Comment: I just ordered the Melissa and Doug Vehicle Chunky Puzzle.
Last year my son received this puzzle and the Construction Puzzle for a gift. I love the wooden pieces. He not only does he love completing the puzzle, the pieces themselves are toys. It really is a special toy I plan to keep for my grandkids.
I ordered a new set to decorate his dresser for his room. I am disappointed in the changes made to the product. The paint does not go all the way around the pieces and the paint on the front of the pieces is not the same quality. I feel this is no longer a stand out product for children, definitely not something I would keep for other children when my son is finished with it. I will settle for these on his dresser, although it will not look as nice as I hoped.
I think of Melissa and Doug as a brand that is making wonderful, lasting toys for children. The quality for this product has definitely gone down.

Summary: Great puzzle / vehicle play toy 2008-07-30
Comment: Last week I gave this to my 23 month old grandson. While it's not overly challenging as a puzzle, it's absolutely great as a creative play toy. The pieces are thick enough to stand alone, small enough to fit in pockets. He's spent hours playing make-believe boats in the water, airplane in the sky, train chugging around the coffee table, etc. And the puzzle board is a nice, neat place to store the pieces when he's done. This is a winner.

Summary: Durable puzzle that will last... 2008-07-14
Comment: This is a beautiful puzzle that we purchased for our two year old. It is as beautiful as it seems in the picture provided. Melissa and Doug products are superior in quality and this seem like one of their longer lasting puzzles. The only downside... eventually he will outgrow it.
