With its ingenious design, the Gearation Activity Set lets preschoolers assemble clicking, whirring, googly-eyed machines allby themselves. Eleven colorful plastic gears adhere magnetically to a 14-by-16-inch easel, so kids are free to arrange them in any order they can dream up. The gear in the center powers the whole contraption. The various gears (each measuring from 1 to 3 inches across) all do something different, whether it's making a noise or just turning a brightly colored arm, and kids can control the gear speeds with fat, easy-to-grab switches. And since all the parts are cleverly connected by magnets, you don't have to worry about the motor burning out. Age: 36 months and up

Summary: Great toy 2008-11-11
Comment: My three year old grandson loves this thing. He plays with it every day since he got it for his birthday. Every body is amused by it. Just wish it would turn itself off after a while. Seems to be on all day.

Summary: Great toy that keep my son busy for hours 2008-08-23
Comment: This is my favorite toy. I love it first seen on Baby Einstein series. We planned to use it to our almost 2 year old son (I know the product is suggested for 3+YO) on our trip to Asia (20 hours flight). The board is a little too big for traveling but worth a try. As planned, he stayed put in his seat the whole flights. What kids will not like it? It is cute design and colorful, has moving parts that can turn in both directions, slow or fast.. And it is magnetic so won't fall off the board when he carried the whole thing around the house. It has been few months now and he is still love it everytime I pull it out. His creation has gone wide. He put Lego blocks tower on top of the moving face and see how they move, or fall down. only problem I found is that the black color on the board can be scratched out easily. I just hope it won't make its way into our kids' mouths.

Comment: I bought two of these, one for my son (3 yrs) and one for his friends birthday. They both loved it. It is durable,colorful and engaging. My son was engrossed in it till he figured out how to attach the gears when the whole thing is in motion. My piece was a little faulty in that the battery compartment door if closed will not work, i had to keep the battery compartment door open and the battery pulled a little out
( a loose connection problem ). My son loved the toy.

Summary: Gear up for Fun 2008-05-30
Comment: I bought this as a gift for a 2 year old, because my 20 month old daughter loves this toy. She played with it all the time with her friend, a 23 month old boy. It's fun and educational for the kids to play with this toy because they have to figure out how the gears go together to run. Not only is this toy fun for kids, but adults often end up playing with it too. This is a great toy for kids and parents to enjoy together.

Summary: Great toy for a mechanical kid 2008-01-12
Comment: This toy is great for my 2 year old. He loves to connect the gears and watch it go around. We searched all over locally for this and could only find it online, well worth paying the freight! It keeps him happy for a long time :)
