Summary: Battlestations Midway 2008-08-25
Comment: Battlestations Midway
I am, without a doubt, a WWII combat game addict! This little piece of work is not at all bad for the occasional battle fan, however; it takes more than a little getting used to in order to play it well!
I figured this more for a load and play fun game. Not so, with many different ships, planes, ground troops, etc. each area has to be learned from the ground up.
Fairly good graphics, cool water images, reasonable ship and plane rendering.
Over all, if you are willing to spend a fair amount of time learning the ins and outs, I'm sure you will enjoy this game.

Summary: A Shooter, NOT A Stratedgy Game 2008-06-18
Comment: So you don't make the mistake I did, this game is a SHOOTER, NOT a stratedgy game. As a shooter it is fairly entertaining and the graphics and battle engines are good.
What I was hoping for (and what some of the product info I read said) was that it was partly a strategy game. This it is not. I was hoping for something on par with Avalon Hill's "Midway" board game (only for the PC) where you can setup the war in the Pacific using the same historical units and strengths. Sort of a "Medievel Total War" for the Pacific theatre of WW2.
I'm now going to try "Pacific Storm" and see how that will fare.

Summary: Submarine action worth the price. 2008-05-09
Comment: I bought this game because it had submarine combat which is rare. The battleship and air combat is kind of lame, but the submarine combat is great. You have all aspects of submarine warfare, ie. sonar, periscope, air supply, forward and stern torpedoe tubes, etc

Summary: OK, but WAY too short 2008-04-29
Comment: Quick review. This game is OK. The gameplay is fun and you get to switch between any unit in the game, however there are a LOT of things goiong on at once and usually you end up staring at the overview map. The game is incredibly short -- I finished the campaign in about 4 hours. Then all that is left are the challenges. Worth it for $10 in a remainder rack. Not at full price.

Summary: Sweet but short! 2008-01-27
Comment: Battle stations Midway is an absolute BLAST to play its amazing how they fused together 1st person shooter and 3rd person. But because of the skill it took to do this they could only produce a small amount of levels 11 to be exact. But after that you can hit the challenges which are special challenges in a specific region of the game. For example, there are 4 ship challenges, 3 plane challenges, and 3 submarine challenges. Then when you've owned the PC enough move on to the MULTIPLAYER which is pretty cool with many levels to choose from except some of the online players are from the demo so there is only one level they can play.
