Product Description

Namco's Museum 50th Anniversary Collection compiles some of the classic Namco arcade games that defined gaming in the 1980s. Go back in time and play classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Pole Position. The new retro menu Interface allows players to explore a virtual arcade hall where each of the game's classics will be standing in its original arcade form. The only difference is, this time you don't need a pocket full of quarters! Pole Position - The milestone in racing games Pole Position II - Sequel to the original, with 4 real racetracks - Fuji, Test, Suzuka, and Seaside Rolling Thunder - Become secret agent Albatross and rescue Lelia Blitz from the evil Geldra Bosconian - Survive against an army of space stations, while avoiding asteroids and other obstacles Rally X - Players drive around a maze while avoiding chasing cars, laying smoke screens, and collecting flags Dragon Spirit - Control a powerful dragon through the air, harness spells, drop bombs and breath fire at enemies Sky Kid - Control a bi-plane and avoid enemy planes using evasive loops, while dropping bombs & shooting down other planes Xevious - Use a heavily armed fighter plane to destroy enemies and targets, in the air and on the ground Mappy - Control Mappy the police mouse, as he dodges chasing cats to collect valuable items

Summary: The best versions of these games! 2008-09-29
Comment: Even if you have other versions of this game if this one is worth it because this one was done by emulation experts Digital Eclipse. The previous versions were not. If you're not familiar with them they also did the three Midway volumes, the 2 Capcom volumes and the Atari collection. Perfect sounds, graphics and as another reviewer wrote the old patterns work here since these games are copied from the originals. If you're playing one of the Pac-man games grab a PS2 compatible arcade stick and you'll get the full experience.

Summary: Worse than last one! 2008-06-11
Comment: This 50th anniversary collection stinks! The last release named namco museum was MUCH better, in addition to the original games you get a remake version with updated graphics and stuff.

This 50th collection is just original games, nothing else. The menu and options are dumbed down too, for example you CAN'T set the screen to split mode which puts all the score and number on one side which you CAN do in the last collection.

Overall this game is worse than the last one! Should be renamed Namco museum don't buy this 50th collection get the previous version! Unless you really want the few extra games like rolling thunder or dragon spirit.

Summary: Good old classics 2008-04-14
Comment: My six year old son likes playing with this. Games are real easy to play. These are the games that I remember playing when I was a kid going to arcades.

Comment: I love these games. It has a lot of the old games that I played as a youth. My grandson enjoys playing also. I would buy from this seller again.
