Pokémon 101
What are Pokémon? Pokémon come I all shapes and sizes. Each Pokémon has one or two types of moves (such as Grass, Fire or Water) which it uses in battle. Pokémon also develop their own personalities, likes and dislikes - just like humans do. Pokémon and humans have learned to live and work together in harmony to create a better life for all.

Pokémon grow and evolve in different ways. When Pokémon travel with a Pokémon trainer, they gain experience from battling other Pokémon and other trainers. Pokémon can also gain experience by staying at the Pokémon daycare, but nothing beats first-hand battle experience. All Pokémon have one or two innate element types. Pokémon types reflect the strengths and weaknesses as well as the environments they originated from. For example Fire-type Pokémon are often found near hot environments, excel in fire-type moves and are weak against Water-type moves. If you know what type of Pokémon your opponent is using, it is usually a good strategy to use the opposing type. Gym leaders and trainers always use one or two Pokémon types. Like most creatures, Pokémon live in environments suited to their needs. A skilled Pokémon trainer will search everywhere for Pokémon and learn where to find different types. Some Pokémon are more elusive than others. You will need key items such as a fishing pole to catch some Pokémon.

Starting out in the game you find yourself transformed into a Pokémon! After taking a Pokémon personality test the form of your Pokémon will be revealed. Washed ashore on the beach a fellow Pokémon is beside you asking for your help in finding lost treasure. You can form rescue teams to discover the mystery around your transformation as you hunt for lost treasure along the way. Explore this fantastic land untouched by human hands as you join hundreds of Pokémon in randomly-generated dungeons.

Utilizing the Wi-fi connection feature enables players to rescue each other or send out your own SOS for help. With 16 available playable Pokémon including Chimarchar, Munchlax, Piplup as well as previous Pokémons including Pikachu, Squirtle, and Charmander the fun never stops! Keep a keen eye out for familiar faces from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl as well. With over 490 Pokémon and non-repeating dungeons this game ensure infinite exploration. Explore long-lost dungeons or hunt down criminal Pokémon. The choice is yours in this open-ended game.

For years you've captured, traded and battled with them; now it's time once again to become a Pokémon yourself! It's time to join the adventures of Treasure Town.

Fans of the two previous Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, will marvel at the greatly enhanced graphics, new story and grand adventure in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. For Game Boy® Advance owners, the fresh look and wireless aspects of these new Pokémon titles provide even more reasons to upgrade to Nintendo DS. And best of all for budget-conscious parents, Nintendo DS is also able to play the entire library of Game Boy Advance games.

You can also save and share your Pokémon photos with friends via the Wii message board. You can challenge them to see who's captured the best Pokémon poses!

Summary: Fun and a little addicting 2008-11-16
Comment: I am a big Pokemon fan, so I love Pokemon games. When I started playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, I fell in love with it. I can't find one flaw in this game. The music fits every scene, the dungeons are challenging and the guild members are lovely. I never get bored with this game. The story is very interesting and even has a few plot twists. So surprising. I love all the color this game has. It's beautiful. And all of the missions keep the game challenging and fun. The dungeon designs are hard to figure out, but that's what keeps it interesting. This is easy at first, but it soon gets hard, but it wouldn't be very fun if it were easy, would it? The story is actually fast, depending on how much you play the game. I got through the storyline in a week. It was hard, but I loved it. The graphics are bright and beautiful. This game is flawless to me.

Comment: My daughter loved it. My son loved it. They play with it whenever they are allowed to play video games. It came with a mini guide and they like to compare all the pokemons that they have. Worth the money I spent.

Summary: What an amazing game! 2008-08-13
Comment: I recently got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of time, and it was so awesome! I was so into the story, I couldn't put my DS down! In fact, I ended up completing the game in 2 days... Much, much better than the previous one in my opinion. The story is very interesting and touching, it gets a bit emotional at times.

My ratings:

Fun: 5/5. This game provided me with hours and hours of fun, as I explored and tried to solve the mystery of why I became a pokemon.

Graphics: 5/5. Everywhere we explored was simply beautiful, especially fogbound lake. I was completely captivated by the graphics.

Sound: 5/5. This game had wonderful music, that seemed to fit the mood, wether we were in a moment of deep trouble, or my partner and i were just having one of those emotional moments.

Dungeons: 3/5. There are many great dungeons to explore on this game, but however I was not pleased about the dungeon that reduces you to level 1 while you are exploring it. It's like throwing away all your hard work, and giving it back once you leave the dungeon. This is one of the few things I found disappointing about this game.

Ideas: 5/5. I was thrilled when I found out I would be part of a guild rather than being an individual rescue team. The guildmaster would always make me laugh, no matter how tight our situation was. It was a bit upsetting when I graduated from the guild and didn't live there anymore, though :( Also, I also loved that every night we would eat dinner, and watching all those pokemon chow down is always entertaining. After you beat the game, however, it gets a bit repetitive. Overall, the whole idea of the game was very unique and I enjoyed it a lot.

Differences from the previous mystery dungeon games: 2/5. I was a little upset that you still have to worry about getting hungry in the dungeons. The apples just take up space in your treasure bag. Also, the variety of pokemon you could start as in the beginning wasn't great. I started as Munchlax. I loved how in the first mystery dungeon games, you could be an Eevee. I really wish you could still be an Eevee. The pokemon you can start as are: All of the starters (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Chikorita, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Treeko, Mudkip, Torchic, Turtwig, Piplup, Chimchar), Pikachu, Meowth, Skitty, and Munchlax. I could tell the makers definatly tried to improve the game, but besides the better story line, i didn't think it was that improved.

New Foes: 5/5. I actually enjoyed chasing after team Skull, as they were incredibly easy to beat and ended up having a little good in them. I found them much better than Team Meanies in the previous games. Not to mention you can tell Team Skull put a lot more thought into their team name :P

Overall: 4/5. This game is great for most people, but some people said they thought it was a bit sappy. I guess it's just my personality, but I liked the 'sappy' moments. If you loved the last pokemon mystery game, you will most likely LOVE this one. If you didn't like the previous game, then you just might find this one a bit better, as it has a much more complicated story line, and it includes Diamond and Pearl pokemon.

Summary: Even Better Than Previous PMDs! 2008-07-04
Comment: This game was given to me for my birthday, and I had extremely high expectations for it. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. This game had an enchanting storyline to go along with the vivid graphics and characters. Like with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue, it has a sad ending, but with a joyous conclusion. Throughout the game are twists and turns so amazing that you can't be sure what to think, or who to trust.
The only problem I can find is the long cut-scenes, but I can hardly complain, as they are crucial to understanding the the whole story. Along terms of difficulty, the bosses are hard, but not not too hard. All your other opponents seem easy, but they can be deadly.
