Product Description

Stalker: Shadow Of Chernobyl takes you into a near future where nuclear disaster has taken place. When a strange second explosion at the old Chernobyl site rocks the landscape, it leaves a vast "Exclusion Zone" plagued with deadly energy disturbances in its wake. The quarantined Exclusion Zone expanded over time, and by 2012, specially equipped poachers, known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, venture into the Zone to claim radioactive artifacts for the black market. You are a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. battling for survival among rivals, soldiers and mutant creatures while trying to discover the true nature of Chernobyl's dark past and horrific future.

Comment: Everything worked out grandly. The shipping was as expedient as anyone could hope for in Iraq. Brand new game in box. Everything worked as I hoped. Thank you for your excellent service.

Summary: Decent story and plot, still slightly buggy 2008-10-28
Comment: Game had me hooked until I finished it, at which point I started it over again. The story is interesting and keeps you going and it runs decently enough on my laptop (x205-sli3).

The ONLY issue I have with the game is that there are still some bugs, even with the latest patch applied. Thankfully the crashes that occured were few and far between, but annoying nontheless. As usual, save and save often resolves this issue.

Summary: Finished it, loved it 2008-10-17
Comment: I am a regular gamer and this game lived up to being different enough to keep my interest. I didn't do every side mission but went through the whole game and really enjoyed the tactical shooter type gameplay. Now it is back to BF2 and Gears of War till I find something I like as well as Stalker.

Summary: benchmark new gaming [feel] 2008-10-13
Comment: this first person shooter i believe will be a new guide line on video gaming...a true work of art and a great example of amazing tactics done by the creators...and taking it to a different level of row playing and developing story line writing on gaming.....just think a simple story line like "escape from new york" by john carpentar with these creators and you got some serios gaming going on in the zone ....and it goes on and on...i think i read ...they are mostly from ukraine/russia who created this game is a good example of a complete different way of thinking when it comes to gaming which i think in the usa we need to look at ....and there's alot of other subjects the usa has got to look at differently also, but i wont go there...game play was addicting and can be very diffilcult....a couple bugs here and there ...but always willing to sacrofice due to a great game...call it lucky or not this was the the first fps i purchased in my two years of pc gaming and you can't imagine the state i was in at the the intro exsperiences in this game...this is about the feel and a MUST BUY...i started playing stalker with out a guide book 1/2 of the game wich worked out great ...till i got to x18 lab...and really got myself into some unusal positions in the game wich was killer...im happy to be a part of [STALKER] as a customer and keep the good work up...ASUS....THQ....DEEP SILVER...GAME WORLD

Summary: Horrible Game 2008-09-30
Comment: I had hoped this game would be good, but was I ever disappointed. If you compare it all the FPS games of the last 5 years, it looks like something from 10 years ago. Actually DOOM was better. The storyline is OK, but the weapons are useless. You can empty a clip from the pistol into someone at point blank range and all he does is grunt. When you are killed, the game has to reload from the last checkpoint and takes forever.
Another real turnoff is that all the characters speak in Russian. What a waste of 20 bucks.
