Product Review
Product Description

Lay down the bass backbone to the greatest rock 'n' roll hits of all time, in Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, with the exciting new Widow Maker Bass guitar controller from the Rock Commandos. Fully compatible with all versions of Guitar Hero and Rock Band for Playstation 2 and 3, the Widow Maker Bass Guitar controller is the most advanced controller available anywhere, at any price. Its AutoSeek 'n' Set RF wireless technology uses rock-solid 2.4GHz radio connectivity, instead of flimsy line-of-sight infrared like other controllers, and it automatically scans and memorizes optimum settings for up to four controllers in multi-player setups. Its classic body style is reminiscent of famous bass guitar models used by The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, The Dixie Dregs and others.
The Widow Maker Bass guitar controller includes the new Strum Bar for a tighter strumming zone, and its exciting FeatherTouch Fret Buttons have been undercoated with new rubber cushions that are designed to activate at the slightest touch, for extremely fast action on the most comfortable neck design to date. It includes a patented button cluster with a specially recessed Start button, which lets players go wild without accidentally pausing the game, and a new array of LED status lights provides critical information about the controller's connectivity. Its new PowerThief power saving mode automatically conserves precious battery power for extended hours of play, and its Smart Bi-directional Accelerator sensor features two sensors so players can activate Star Power mode by gently shaking the controller, as well as using the standard vertical upright method.

Realistic to the slightest detail, the Widow Maker Bass guitar controller features a stylish headstock with five tuning pegs, and it even functions as a six-string controller if necessary. It includes the highly responsive Super Whammy System whammy bar.

Summary: Widow Maker 2008-09-29
Comment: I like this guitar. I use it with Rock Band and have no complaints. The buttons are all the same color as in the picture. It is more matte black than shiny and the whammy bar is a little flimsy but I don't even use that much. I like the rubber tuning keys since they are just for decor you don't have to worry about them snapping off, and the strap placement is a lot more comfortable than other gaming guitars I've used. The button and strum sensitivity are good and the placement of the start and select buttons are convenient because you can easily put it into overdrive by bumping it with the butt of your palm, without accidentally pausing the game mid song. The only issue I have is the gyroscopic switch sensitivity. To put the guitar into overdrive by movement instead of pressing select you have to tilt the guitar completely vertical which causes a lot of mistakes in game. I'm thinking about taking it apart and adjusting it to react to only slight tilts. But still, I bought this guitar because it was full size, pretty, and I can customize it instead of borrowing my friends "instruments." Thumbs up for the Widow Maker... I just wish someone would make some sticker mods for it...

Summary: Sticky buttons ruin this guitar 2008-09-28
Comment: I needed a guitar for my Rockband PS3 since I have always been using friend's instruments. I decided to buy this since it works for Guitar Hero 3 PS2 as well as Rockband PS3, the two games that I have. It does work great for both of those games, although getting it to work for GH3 PS2 required a lot more than it should have. Also, I have to calibrate it every time or else it's off 20 ms or so.

It worked well for maybe two weeks, and even then you had to press the buttons really hard, but then the buttons started sticking. This wasn't that big of a deal in Hard Mode, but in Expert it is completely unplayable. How am I supposed to do hammer-ons when my Red button sticks for an extra second? Also, the raised bump on the yellow fret is way too rigid.. it starts to hurt your fingers after a while.

I am very upset about this guitar, having spent $60 on something that barely functions and doesn't last at all.

Summary: P.O.S. Moron-Maker Bass Guitar 2008-09-22
Comment: This is the lousiest piece-of-junk ever made. Weighs 1/2 as much as the Strat and plays 1/8 as well. Sticky-buttons, strange strap hooks and limp whammy bar and there you have it. Came in the wrong box. Bad sign. Rubber tuning forks. Cheap. All buttons are black matt. Not Chrome as displayed. The strap hook is on the back of the guitar. Not the chrome button on the tip of the body as shown. Mine broke after 3 weeks and I don't even care to get any kind replacement from the ant commandos. Dumb company name, too.

Summary: Excellent Guitar! 2008-07-09
Comment: ok lets begin. the box was not that big it was triangular. the first thing i noticed when i opened the box was that its not as bright and shiny as the strat. second i noticed the strum bar clicks and its not as soft as teh strat. i like it that way better. ok so i pick it up and i notice the neck is abit fatter.. the note buttons (green, yellow yadday dayyda) dont click liek teh strat, i like the strats fret buttons better. they kinda just go down. they are also longer. the solo buttons are just buttons. imgine tiny circles. its not like a fretboaord where it all moves. no only the button goes down. sorry its kinda hard to explain thru text. ok so i turn it on to rockband first and it works perfectly. i felt awkward though. the adapter has two outputs. a usb one and a ps2 controller one. it also has a switch with three choices. ps2, ps3 guitar hero 3, rock band. yea thats it. later i went on to try GH 2 and it worked perfectly. idk who said that it was impossible to play in gh2 but i can play perfectly. i even get better scores. ya. thats about it. the 360 fly clip is not well instrucuted in teh manual so i dont really know how to set it up. (its crappy silluehette photos and i cant understand **bleep**. ) but i kinda got it on and its nice. id give this product a 10/10 no problems so far. great in all the aspects. the only throwback i see is that u hav to press a little extra hard on the fret buttons. excellent product though

EDIT: i finally got the 360 clip to work its nice. evades you from having to use a strap.
